Why Volunteer?

Riding Together is committed to making cycling inclusive for all, breaking down barriers for people with disabilities. Your support ensures we can continue to provide tandem rides, adaptive bikes, and inclusive cycling programs that empower riders and connect communities.

Change Lives – Give someone the chance to experience movement, independence, and connection.

Be Part of a Community – Join a network of riders, volunteers, and partners making cycling more inclusive.

Improve Well-Being – Cycling benefits both mental and physical health, for volunteers and participants alike.

Make a Real Impact – Every ride, every volunteer hour, and every dollar donated directly supports adaptive cycling initiatives.

Feel Better, Live Brighter—Volunteer Today

Volunteering isn’t just good for the community—it’s good for you too. A study done by Volunteering Australia in 2023 reported that volunteering:

  • Improves life satisfaction, self-esteem, and wellbeing

  • Linked to reduced symptoms of anxiety

  • Supports positive mental health outcomes across all age groups

  • Boosts social connection and a sense of belonging

  • Enhances feelings of purpose and meaning

  • Can be a valuable part of mental health recovery

  • Contributes to resilience during life challenges

  • Helps reduce loneliness and social isolation.

Not a Cyclist?

We still need your help.

Riding Together is more than just a charity—it’s a community creating freedom, inclusion, and joy for people of all abilities through cycling. But we can’t do it alone!

We need volunteer expertise and assistance in the following areas:

  • Social media/web updates – Help spread awareness and engage with our community.
  • Newsletter – Write a monthly newsletter for our cycling community.
  • Photography and video – Document rides and share memorable moments.
  • Ride coordination – Assist with scheduling and organising bookings.

  • Transport & logistics – Help move bikes between locations.
  • Cafe owners – If you’re a cafe owner and see us ride by regularly, reach out, we’d love to pop in with the riders for a break.
  • Route planning and safety checks – Plan and assess new rides.
